Install & removal guide
Put it in. Take it out. Either way, about a minute.
Your signature is ready the moment you copy it from My signatures. Here's how to install it in every supported app — and how to remove it cleanly if you ever want to.
Gmail (on the web)
Install:
- In Signet, open your signature and press Copy signature.
- In Gmail, click the gear icon → See all settings.
- On the General tab, scroll to Signature and click Create new. Name it anything you like.
- Click inside the signature box and paste.
- Just below, set For new emails use and On reply/forward use to your new signature — setting both is what makes it appear on replies too.
- Scroll down and click Save changes.
Remove: back in Gmail's Settings → General → Signature, either set both dropdowns to No signature, or click the trash icon next to the signature to delete it, then Save changes.
Used the one-tap install? Same place: it wrote the signature into those exact Gmail settings, so removing it there removes it completely. You can also disconnect Signet from Gmail anytime on My signatures, and revoke access in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps.
Note: the Gmail phone app has its own separate, text-only "Mobile signature" setting. Leave it off and emails sent from the app simply go without a signature; emails you send from Gmail on a computer use your Signet signature.
Apple Mail (Mac)
Install:
- In Signet, press Copy signature.
- In Mail, open Mail → Settings → Signatures.
- Select your email account, click +, and name the signature.
- Click into the preview box and paste.
- Untick Always match my default message font so it keeps its design.
- At the bottom, set Choose Signature to your new one.
Remove: in the same Signatures window, select it and click −, or set Choose Signature to None.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple's Mail app only supports plain-text signatures, so your Signet signature rides along on mail you send from a Mac.
Outlook (new Outlook and outlook.com)
Install:
- In Signet, press Copy signature.
- In Outlook, open Settings → Mail → Compose and reply.
- Under Email signature, click New signature, name it, and paste into the box.
- Set it as the default for New messages and Replies/forwards.
- Save.
Remove: same screen — delete the signature or set both defaults back to (No signature).
Removing it everywhere at once
Deleting a signature in My signatures stops it displaying immediately — including in emails you've already sent. Removing it from one mail app only stops it appearing in new emails from that app.
